Patchwork Monsters Hard Rock Style

A collection of Rock n' Roll inspired Patchwork Monsters were born (made by me) this week.
Even though I sustained numerous injuries, bent several needles and gained an addiction to gin they were created in aid of the celebration for The Hard Rock Cafe's 40th anniversary: http://www.hardrock.com/
Recycled fabrics were used to create this little Jimi Hendrix inspired Monster Skin. The inspiration was Hendrix's patchwork jacket. Various fabrics below were kindly donated by Make Industries: http://www.makeindustries.co.uk/

Inspiration: Patchwork jacket worn by Hendrix

The next Patchwork Monster to make an appearance was none other than Mr Simmons. His tongue is not as long as Gene's (sometimes he might look like hes catching flies... but he's not - hes rockin'!)

And last but not least came the arrival of Mr Springsteen.. (My housemate is now without a pair of jeans but doesn't he look marvellous!)

Detail: Born In The USA.

Monster Guests

Well amidst the weather at the weekend we had three little patchwork guests to stay. They got up to all sorts of mischief, I had to refrain them from playing a card game at one point as they started to gamble away my possessions.

This is Sharon she is the smallest of the Patchwork Monsters but has a heart of gold and an appetite the size of Mt. Everest. (she once came second in a hot dog eating competition).

This little fella is Norman he likes gardening (well I say gardening he actually just digs holes in the grass)
His favourite dish is bangers n' mash, and he enjoys a good glass of Rioja on a weekend.

This is Simon he is brilliant at tap dancing and likes going to musicals. However he does get frightened of pink socks.

Monsters that love to pose.

Soon to be available to buy on http://babygiftsbyemma.co.uk/ very soon!

Monster Skin

Last night these Monster skins were cut and sewn from recycled fabric and patch worked together, I have a feeling that these little patchwork Monster's are going to be very naughty indeed.

Patchwork Monster Inspiration

After wading through mountains of mauve and applique flowered patchwork designs, (you know the kind of patchwork quilt that Auntie Mavis would have on her bed) I found these jazzy little numbers from Squint www.squintlimited.com based in Shoreditch. Now I think that those little patchwork monsters especially Beady Eye would feel right at home if he had a Chesterfield like this one:

Patchwork Monsters

I would like to introduce these two fiesty little fellas Beady Eye (top) & Mally (bottom) which were born from recycled patchwork cotton and yarn on Sunday afternoon, since then they have caused havoc. There favourite foods are custard and sardines (yes at the same time) and are partial to a Vindaloo. They are expecting friends to visit this week so I shall update you all with more pictures.
